About Us

GPAA Matthews was established in mid-2007 by a diverse group of outdoor ENTHUSIASTS. Our membership exemplifies both men and women; the young and the young at heart; singles and families. Despite a wide array of occupations and backgrounds our members share a common thread: we really like to dig in! We enjoy sharing leisure time with one another during our scheduled monthly outings. After all, our primary "gold" is to have fun! Seeking adventure is only part of our explorations. Our members concur that Carolina's great outdoors is a welcome relief to the daily 9 to 5+ routine. It is true that we often find gold, but more importantly, new-found friends become real gems. Join us......come play in the dirt!

WELCOME New Members & Friends If anyone gets a chance to come to one of the meetings, make plans on it. I am a member to a number of different clubs in NC and you will find this Club is certainly one to attend. The enthusiasm that you feel even as you enter the door, not to even speak of the warm welcome that you will get for just being there, is fantastic. Everything is set for your enjoyment and fun. There is a lot of experience that you can draw from the newbie. And they don't mind helping and sharing. Make plans to attend and plan on a great evening.
